Two-Step-ConversionWhat could be easier than 1-2-3? How about 1-2? Conversion between sewing and embroidery, takes just two steps with the Memory Craft 10001. Touch the Embroidery mode key and attach the embroidery foot. Many other machines require a bulky, external attachment to make this switch, but Janome's patented telescopic embroidery arm does the work for you. All this and a wonderful large embroidery area.
From the tiny Free Arm Hoop to the giant Giga Hoop, and two more sizes in between, your MC10001 comes with the right size hoop for your project. As you might guess, the Giga Hoop is for your biggest designs, up to 9.1" x 7.9". But at 2" x 2" the tiny Free Arm Hoop is just as useful, allowing you to stitch out designs in tight places like cuffs and collars without disassembly.

More ways to Do On-Screen Edits and Layouts
If you sew to relax, then you really should have a quiet machine. Customers have told us that the MC10001 is noticeably quieter than other machines they've used. This is because our stitch mechanism is so stable and precise. Your MC10001 can run at up to 800 stitches per minute with a minimum of noise and vibration.
Like your laptop and digital camera, the MC10001 has an ATA Card(also called Compact Flash Card with Type II Adapter) port built right in. Thanks to the Multi-Folder Memory System, an ATA card in the MC10001 can hold up to 1,200 designs. Computer makers have already begun phasing out the floppy, while the ATA PC Card has become a standard for computers and many other devices. Plus, the ATA Card has no moving parts, making it a more reliable form of storage.
Connectivity With Computers, Card Readers and More
There are dozens of beautiful embroidery designs pre-programmed into the MC10001: Large designs, Standard designs, petite Free Arm designs, and giant Giga designs. You can start embroidering right out of the box.
There are lots of sites on the internet offering copyright-free designs inthe Janome .jef and .sew formats. Download them to your computer and put them on an ATA PC Card, or import them directly into the MC10001 through the RS232C or USB ports.
Delicate florals, antique lace, oriental motifs and holiday themes. They've all been digitized for professional results and come complete with templates and thread color guides as part of our optional PC Design Library. The latest PC Design Cards are also available in a CD format that allows you to import them into your computer for design manipulation and layout.
Using the RS232C port, you can connect the optional Card Reader 10000 and load your favourite designs from Janome Memory Cards(#102 and up).
The MC10001 has multiple built-in Memory folders for organizing designs within the machine itself. This flexible multi-folder system also allows you to save up to 1,200 designs on your ATA Pc card in 12 different folders.
Beautiful Embroidery Fonts for Creative Lettering
Browsing through the MC10001's built-in decorative stitches, you'll find page after page of selections, including three complete monogramming alphabets. But that's only the beginning of your choices. Decorative stitches can be adjusted in minute increments for just the look you want. Satin stitches can be elongated up to fivetimes their original length without sacrificing stitch density. With each adjustment, you can see at the top of the Touch Screen exactly how he stitch will change. After you've created your sequence of customized stitches, you can assign a file name and save it in one of the the machine's built-in memory banks or an ATA PC Card. Large design combinations can be viewed before sewing with the Check Memory Key that opens a preview window.
The MC10001 will let you change and insert stitches in both the lettering and stitch sections. And you can easily go back and change individual letters. The MC10001 can save combinations of letters in each of its built-in memory banks or ATA PC Card.
The precise stitching of the Memory Craft 10001 is especially well suited to heirloom sewing. You can choose from dozens of these delicate stitches, like a genuine French Knot, fancy hemstitches, ornate scallop stitches, and intricate decorative stitches. And like all of the decorative stitches, each heirloom stitch can be modified, combined and saved.
Make perfect buttonholes every time. The MC10001 boasts 11 automatic buttonholes that stitch out with legendary Janome quality. Styles include rounded and keyhole buttonholes, as well as tailored, stretch, antique and welted buttonholes. Simply ast your button in the Sensor Buttonhole foot, which automatically measures your button and stitches the hole to the exact size. There is no need for tedious programming to repeat the same buttonhole over and over. Again, the strong needle penetrateion and precise stitch mechanism ensure professional results even on the most challenging fabrics. You're free to customize your buttonholes in length, width and tension.
The Memory Craft 10001 is the ideal machine for 21st Century quilters. Essential quilting accessories such as the Knee Lifter, Even Feed foot, 1/4" foot, Cloth Guide, quilting bar, and Darning foot come standard with the machine. The Lock-a-Matic and Locking stitches are invaluable for machine piecing or quilting. They have been conveniently grouped with the PatchWork Repeat Sewing option on the Sewing Applications page.
