Connect it directly to your computer via the USB or RS232C ports to transfer files from the internet and CD-ROM, use standard ATA PC Cards or PC Design Cards in the built-in port, or connect an optional Card Reader box to use dozens of your favourite classic Memory Cards. The MC10001 is also compatible with powerful Janome embroidery design and layout software like Digitizer 10000 abd Customizer 10000 Plus.
More ways to Do On-Screen Edits and Layouts
You don't need a computer to do sophisticated design layouts on the MC10001. The built-in layout software allows you to bring in designs; copy, delete, paste, rotate and resize; then move the designs into the exact locations you want in your layout. Then on-screen display shows how they'll fit in the hoop you've selected.

Like your laptop and digital camera, the MC10001 has an ATA Card(also called Compact Flash Card with Type II Adapter) port built right in. Thanks to the Multi-Folder Memory System, an ATA card in the MC10001 can hold up to 1,200 designs. Computer makers have already begun phasing out the floppy, while the ATA PC Card has become a standard for computers and many other devices. Plus, the ATA Card has no moving parts, making it a more reliable form of storage.
Connectivity With Computers, Card Readers and More
You have more ways to get designs in and out of your MC10001 than any other machine. Use the ATA PC Card port for superior performance and storage. You can connect your computer via the USB port. Connect your older computer or Card Reader via the RS232 port. Download designs from the internet or get them from a CD-ROM. With Janome embroidery software, you can manipulate designs and design layouts on your computer then load them back into the MC10001 as ready-to-sew files.

There are lots of sites on the internet offering copyright-free designs inthe Janome .jef and .sew formats. Download them to your computer and put them on an ATA PC Card, or import them directly into the MC10001 through the RS232C or USB ports.
Utilize Designs From Our PC Design Card Library
Delicate florals, antique lace, oriental motifs and holiday themes. They've all been digitized for professional results and come complete with templates and thread color guides as part of our optional PC Design Library. The latest PC Design Cards are also available in a CD format that allows you to import them into your computer for design manipulation and layout.

Use your Classic Memory Cards

Using the RS232C port, you can connect the optional Card Reader 10000 and load your favourite designs from Janome Memory Cards(#102 and up).
Multi-Folder Memory system
The MC10001 has multiple built-in Memory folders for organizing designs within the machine itself. This flexible multi-folder system also allows you to save up to 1,200 designs on your ATA Pc card in 12 different folders.
*Scandisk brand card(up to 128MB) is recommended.

A Memory indicator tells you how much free space you have left on your ATA PC Cards as well as how much total memory is available.

Standard and Large Hoops
At 5" x 4.3", Standard Hoop A is the optimum size for 80% of commercial embroidery designs. This includes most Memory Card, PC Design Card and built-in designs.
Our large, rectangular Large Hoop B measures 5.5" x 7.9" - perfect for longer (or wider) designs. It handles the larger Memory Card, PC Design Card, and built-in designs.
Free Arm
The tiny Free Arm Hoop, just 2" x 2", allows you to embroider in tight places like cuffs and shirtsleeves without taking the item apart.
Giga Hoop

Touch the stitch you want to use and the MC1001 automatically sets the tension, the stitch length and width, moves the needle into position, and shows you which presser foot to use. You can easily adjust the stitch settings by touching the adjust key. As you change the stitch width, length or elongation, the image on the visual screen will change to show you what the revised stitch will look like.

Decorative StitchesBrowsing through the MC10001's built-in decorative stitches, you'll find page after page of selections, including three complete monogramming alphabets. But that's only the beginning of your choices. Decorative stitches can be adjusted in minute increments for just the look you want. Satin stitches can be elongated up to fivetimes their original length without sacrificing stitch density. With each adjustment, you can see at the top of the Touch Screen exactly how he stitch will change. After you've created your sequence of customized stitches, you can assign a file name and save it in one of the the machine's built-in memory banks or an ATA PC Card. Large design combinations can be viewed before sewing with the Check Memory Key that opens a preview window.
Lettering
Within the Decorative Stitch library are complete alphabets in 5mm and 7mm, as well as a set of letter-size symbols like stars, bells, crosses etc. I Love JanomeThe MC10001 will let you change and insert stitches in both the lettering and stitch sections. And you can easily go back and change individual letters. The MC10001 can save combinations of letters in each of its built-in memory banks or ATA PC Card.
Heirloom
I Love JanomeThe precise stitching of the Memory Craft 10001 is especially well suited to heirloom sewing. You can choose from dozens of these delicate stitches, like a genuine French Knot, fancy hemstitches, ornate scallop stitches, and intricate decorative stitches. And like all of the decorative stitches, each heirloom stitch can be modified, combined and saved.
